Happy Burday Lee Gal

This has been a long time in coming, and is fortunately coinciding with Lee's birthday on July 7th. I am working on it today, and the blog shall be published on time. This is how i wanted to begin my blog by writing, Alas the ill fated flu struck, not that my past record has been very promisable either. I have always been infamously famous for forgetting special dates and if you have read the earlier 2 posts you would vouch I’m pretty competent at it ;)

Alright, now let me introduce you all to a very dear friend and bosom pal for whom I am writing this blog….Leena!! She and I have been friends since our 10+2 days, now that’s been a good couple of years, but I wouldn’t want to detail on that further lest I end up giving out our ages ;D. I met Leena on what I believe was the first day of college and very well remember her as a nice, shy and quite girl, which of course later turned out wasn't true after all ;) After all these years from our college days to busy university lives and yet busier with our respective jobs i can conveniently say that technically we were never "Best friends" however there have been times we must have shared a lot more than we did with our respective besties. We don’t meet a lot but somehow always manage to have a totally rocking time whenever we are together. This dame here is a very jovial, real fun to be with , loving gal, ever willing to share her huge stock of dirty (Yes the real dirty ones…he he he.) jokes!

Did i also say she is the cutest gal in the entire world. ....ever smiling, very caring, adorable and humble but can be the most roguish at times. Couple of things that set her aside from the rest are listed below:

She is the biggest Salman Khan fan you would possibly have ever come across.

Her Odia is just too cute (In case u haven’t u must listen to her talk in odia sometime)

She is the one who always replies your call

She appreciates every little thing as little to notice

Her Memory is as bad as mine …nah kidding. Infact she remembers small little erstwhile things too

She hates screaming unless u forced her to do so. Cant say the same about her students though ;)

Looking for a friend who will stand by u /stand up for u no matter what, well then she is the one! But there is this thing in her that just so annoys me; our dear lady here finds it perpetually impossible to say the word “NO” Now it doesn’t really matter if she were to give up her life in the process. “Ek baar jo isne commitment kar li to ye apne aap ki bhi nahi sunti” There I know this must have got the broadest smile on her face. What is absolutely applaudable however is how much she works towards relationship is, especially to keeping friendship alive . I have seen her go out of her way to do many such things for friends, that most of us will think twice before doing (nah she doesn’t buy them drug ;)). She can be the best buddy for anyone... and I am lucky that I am one of her friend. Want to feel the essence of friendship? This is the gal!! Write to her, meet her and you can feel it :))..To know her more, maybe you too should be her friend...as I am...and I’m very glad I am...

So on this note Lee Babe a tad too late as might I be, please accept my wishes. I know you had a great day and may you always have similar ones in the years to come. I wish you get everything ever you wants in life n be the happiest person in the whole world.:):):) Happy BirthDay yet again J My treat is due ;)

A virtual birthday gift for a very dear friend!

Wow its been a year and a half already and back i am to blogging. Now this blog is a virtual belated birthday gift to one of my very dear friends, Sonali. I have always wished i could remember special dates on time alas without much improvement :( But thank goodness for a whole load of people in my life including my ever forgiving parents(they always forgive me for forgetting their bdays;)) friends,cousins and relatives in my life that thankfully accept me the way i am.

Okay so about this blog,i write here about Sonali one of my best buddies,the official entertainer and mama bear/agony aunt of the gang in college. A friend i know from my first day in college,isn't that a long long time. Almost donkeys years since we have know each other and i am glad i have her as a friend cos she is a gem of a person,very brave, a little weird,mostly funny, always mature and obscenely helpful .The best way to probably describe her is "Madness personified" cos among all ,this part of her persona is pronounced most of the times and people who know her equally well would agree with me;). She has always been a lil crazy than the rest of us and also mention worthy is the fact that she used to be our personal DJ cum singer on friends birthday parties and the sweetheart she was she would never say no. Back in college,together along with Mona we have seen days stacked horizontally on “the kalia ",her kinetic honda (note the color of the scooter was black,no connection to sholay here). And happily stacked horizontally we would be browse about the streets of bbsr when all of a sudden she would notice someone asking for a lift and would want to add them to the already overloaded kalia.Somehow we would convince her and at times we would have to put our foot down n ask her to choose either us or the stranger and being the good friend that she was ,she would always choose us...isnt that sweet :) Now apart from driving us aimlessly and at times with the aim of looking for new joints and shops in town ,the kalia courtesy sonali had the good fortune of saving lives too. At one o clock at night driving through the almost bare streets of bbsr to take her aunt over to the docs is a feat many of us cant do,but sonali did.

With her around its pretty much impossible to imagine a moment of dullness, that cheerful and full of life is she . While some of us would sulk on those days of the month, see bad hair days or cry over a broken heart ,she was the ever smiling one with the ability to crack jokes in the oddest of situations thus compelling you to get out of your problems and LOL.. And on rare days (which would average to about once in a year) that she chose to do the feat , it would last no more than 30 -60 secs at the most and she would then just pop back to her ever charming self. She would keep all of us ever happy and delighted with her gibberish, funny and at times serious antics. Having said this ,I would say that she is one person i have seen that also takes life very seriously. In my years of association with her i have seen her go through many ups and down and many of us would not have managed to handle things the way she did. I remember while we were studying for graduation, her dad(one of the perfect gentleman i have ever met) passed away in an accident. In the moment of grief, she was the most contained among her sisters and mom, taking care of everything which many could not have done. I have seen her take resonsibility of her family from a very young age ,right after her dad passed away. When most of us were bunking classes and having fun in college, i have seen her toil hard at her workplace and manage college classes simultaneously. And this she did when she was all of 19 years, absolutely applaudable and praiseworthy to say the least.

I am glad we have seen each other through every thick and thin. Having been married now for 8 years now and being blessed with a loving husband and a lovely baby boy ,you dear deserve all the happiness you have gotten. I'll always cherish those wonderful days we spent together during our college days!Lucky guys susmit and sayan,are you listening??? You boys are really lucky to have a wife n a mom as brave, nice and cheerful as her. A lil late may be but I again wish you a very Happy Birthday and a Happy Anniversary i wish you in advance! May you both see many more years of togetherness and the best life can bring.And im sure the love u guys share will last you a life time through :)

Best Friends Forever

Well its been a while since the time I opened this blogger account but cudn’t think of anything to write on . I thought the best way to kick off my blog would be to write about the special people in my life . Thought of the dates …..pa ,ma n hubby’s birthday n anniversaries have still some time to go. Yesterday I was watching 3 idiots,loved the movie as always n so there again I started narrating to hubby dear about the college gang . By the time the movie was over it was almost 12ish n that’s when the alarm on my phone beeped flashing "Mona’s Birthday " (thats my best friend for the uninitiated) on the screen n I thanked d phone quickly for being the saviour n reminding me of the date. Now after all in all these years I finally get a chance to wis

h her on time . I know I know it sounds awful but I share this trait with a man when it comes to remembering birthdays n anniversaries or any other special dates. I tried everything starting from maintaining a diary ,putting up stick me ons on the refrigerator but on the D day I would either forget to look at the diary or read the stick on .The reminder thing on the phone didn’t somehow work out for me too until now . Anyway coming back to where we were, so i promptly dialled her number wished her and not unusually chatted for about 45 mins. Now there wasn’t really enough time to buy her a gift so I thought why not I just start off my blog with writing about our friendship.. . .

Allright so our friendship is about 19 yrs old ..we must have been around 10 then.Both of us had joined school near about the same time after midterm ,and being new in the school were friendless too. So we hit it off instantly and before we could realise we had turned the best of buddies.We sailed through school days happily and together went for our first day at college . Once there we did all the 'been there done that' sorta things of which many can land us in serious trouble so i choose to skip those :D.... but the usual ones that are synonymous with almost any teenager like bunking classes to watch movies ,swapping our mills n boons and reading them over n over again n again ,sitting on the college stairs chatting away for hours and having an opinion about everyone who passed by particularly about their looks n style of dressing ,roaming in flea markets, trying out the new haircut , crushes n breakups ,long phone calls after having literally spent the entire day in college together u just name it and we would have done it . There was actually a time when she,actually both of us wanted to run away to marry this cute cricketer but then we thought of the shame we would bring our parents n alas decided to stay back and not elope with this guy who probably didn’t even know we existed on mother earth . Whew I could jus go on n on n on n on about our series of adventures n misadventures.

Now having said all that, there also have been many a times when we fought ..yes literally like cats n dogs n at times like human beings if we were in the right mood ..but then those tiffs never ever really affected our friendship…we did fight but never ever forgot to kiss

n make up. I still remember we had a fight once and I was so mad that I just walked away in a huff … and later that evening wat do i see ? My dear friend sends her dad all the way to my house , with a letter of apology. I thought that was really really sweet ..that got a smile to my face.

So there are numerous funny n stupid somethings we did that I could write a entire blog about in different posts each time n i promise to keep coming back with those posts . But for now I think i am done for the day so I gotta go. And yes to all of those who read this, this is tribute to my best friend Monalisa .We all do care n miss our friends but how often do we take some time to tell them how dear they are to us . I did my bit today and its ur turn now .

To you Mona I wish a very happy birthday n I hope u like this gift …wish loads of happiness to u n ur bundle of joy. Lotsa love :)
